Gross Domestic Product by economic activity and expenditure approach (at current and constant prices), Q1 2018
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the first quarter of 2018, by economic activity and expenditure approach at current and constant prices.
GDP marks a real increase of 3.5% in Q1 2018 compared with Q1 2017.
Real growth of GDP by economic activity is as follows: Financial and insurance activities 10.8%; Manufacturing industry 4.8%; Transport and storage 6.0%; Wholesale and retail trade 5.2%; Real estate business1.8%; Hotels and restaurants 1.0%; Agriculture, hunting, forestry 0.7%; Public administration 2.6%; Construction 9.9%; and Electricity, water and waste treatment 2.6%.
While, the real decline was in the data of extractive industry or mining and quarrying (-12.1%).
GDP according to expenditure approach has increased in Q1 2018 compared to the previous year (Q1 2017) in: export of goods and services (16.2%); the gross capital formation (10.0%); import of goods and services (7.8%); Government final consumption expenditures (5.2%); and Final consumption expenditure and non-profit institutions serving household (NPISHs) (1.4%).
