Enterprise Investment Statistics, 2020

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released data on enterprise investment statistics in 2020.

KAS has conducted the Survey on Investment Statistics in Enterprises in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. The survey was mainly conducted on companies that have declared investment purchases in annual amounts over 50 thousand Euros.

According to the results, investments in construction (buildings and other construction structures) occupy the main share with 77.25% of investments, within the total investments of enterprises included in the survey. Other investments, which occupy a significant weight, are those in machinery and equipment with 18.19%; investments with a smaller weight are in intellectual property products 0.89%; in cultivated biological investments and greenhouses in agriculture by 0.3%; and investments in tangible assets (not produced) by 3.35%.

According to the size of enterprises: 15.65% of investments are made by micro enterprises (1-9 employees); 35.83% in small enterprises (10-49 employees); 40.98% in medium enterprises (50-249 employees); and 7.54% in large enterprises (250 and over employees).

According to the results, enterprises in: Mitrovica region have resulted in the highest percentage of investments (27.25%); Prishtina region (25.77%); Prizren region (25.62%); Ferizaj region (8.71%); Gjakova region (6.28%); Peja region (5.29%) and Gjilani region (1.08%).

According to the source of investment funds, the results indicate that: 57.38% of the value of investments enterprises have realized from their own funds; 22.27% from local bank loans; 11.40% from foreign creditors; 2.64% from local co-investors; and 1.88% by foreign co-investors. Meanwhile, other sources occupy a smaller weight.
