The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released data on the production and consumption of coal, the production and consumption of energy, the import and export of energy as well as the import and export of other energy resources for the month of January 2023.

During the month of January 2023, the available gross electricity was 839.43 GWh, while the electricity consumption was 561.77 GWh, or 0.24% less than in the same month of the previous year (January 2022). The share of alternative electricity within the general consumption was 18.95%.

Meanwhile, the import of electricity in January 2023 was 348.09 GWh, while the export of electricity in the same period was 171.66 GWh (this includes the quantity of transmission).

Coal production was about 7.95 thousand tons, or 1.64% more than in the same month of the previous year (January 2023).
