The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released data on the production and consumption of coal, the production and consumption of energy, the import and export of energy as well as the import and export of other energy resources for the month of February 2023.

During the month of February 2023, gross electricity production from thermal power plants was 485.37 GWh, gross electricity production from hydropower plants was 26.51 GWh, and gross electricity production from wind and solar was 42.7 GWh.

The available gross electricity was 713.21 GWh, while the electricity consumption was 496.61 GWh, or 1.4% less than in the same month of the previous year. The share of alternative electricity within the general consumption was 13.94%.

Meanwhile, the import of electricity in February 2023 was 302.33 GWh, while the export of electricity in the same period was 143.7 GWh (this includes the quantity of transmission).

Coal production was about 7.95 thousand tons, or 1.64% more than in the same month of the previous year (January 2023).
