Energy Efficiency in Kosovo, 2011-2016

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) for the first time has prepared the publication "Energy Efficiency in Kosovo" for the period 2011-2016. The purpose of this publication is to present energy efficiency indicators for the sectors of industry and households.

Total primary energy production has increased during 2011-2016 from 1.793 Mtoe to 2.010 Mtoe, about 12.12% (or 2.4% per year). The production tended to decline until 2014 (the biggest decline was in 2014), while growth started from 2015, while in 2016 it reached 2.01 Mtoe.

Oil prices during 2011 - 2016 have marked a gradual decrease from year to year, where in 2011 the price per liter of oil was 1.24 € / l, while in 2016 the price per liter of oil was 0.93 € / l, or we have a decrease of the oil price by about 25%. Gasoline prices during 2011 - 2016 also marked a gradual decrease from year to year, where in 2011 the price per liter of gasoline was 1.24 € / l, whereas in 2016 the price per liter was 0.98 € / l, which is a decline of gasoline price by around 21%.

The primary production intensity and final GDP intensity increased in 2016 compared to 2011 for 12.12% and 11.52% respectively.
