Energy Consumption in Households, 2015
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) for the first time has published "Energy Consumption in Households" for the year of 2015.
The purpose of the publication is to present the trend of development of this sector. Based on continuous demand from various internal and external users, based on indicators published by Eurostat for energy statistics, as well as recent recommendations from the Progress Report.
In this statistical publication (research) are presented the statistical findings for the reference year of 2015 on energy consumption in households. The total number of residential areas was 366 020, while households were 333 290.
According to the survey, Kosovo's territory is covered with electricity by 99.8%. Regarding the type of resource of derived heat about 70.35% of households use woods as a derived heat resource, 18.18% use electricity as derived heat resource, 7.10% use coal as a derived heat resource, 4.02% consume derived heat from the central or local system for heating, and 0.35% use other alternatives.
We believe that this publication will serve as a useful reference material for all users of KAS statistical data, and will serve as useful and relevant economic information for Kosovo.
KAS has compiled a questionnaire for data collection according to requirements of Eurostat with the tendency for its modification in the future.
