The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the "Energy Balance in Kosovo" in Q1 2021. This publication presents data on coal production, data on energy production and consumption, imports and exports of energy, and imports and exports of other energy resources.

During the first quarter of 2021 (Q1 2021) the total value of coal production is about 2.02 million tons. Whereas, the gross amount of electricity produced in thermal power plants is 1 655.1 GWh, and in hydropower plants is about 85.6 GWh.

Regarding the imported and exported energy values in the first quarter of 2021, Kosovo imported 918.3 GWh of electricity, while during the same period, i.e. Q1 2021 Kosovo exported 422.6 GWh of electricity.

In Q1 2021, the amount of electricity for consumption was 1 510.6 GWh of electricity. Compared to the same quarter last year (Q1 2020), the amount of electricity consumed increased by 13.52%.
