Education Statistics in Kosovo, 2021/2022
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MEST), have prepared the publication of "Education Statistics in 2021/2022".
This publication provides statistical information on preschool, primary and lower secondary education, upper secondary education, special education, and statistical information on university education for the public and private sectors.
According to the results of this publication, the number of children in kindergartens and preschools was 32,397, of which in the public sector 24,431 children or 75.4% while in the private sector 7,966 children or 24.6%.
The number of pupils in primary and lower secondary education was 224,429, of which in the public sector were 217,977 pupils or 97.1%, while in the private sector were 6,452 pupils or 2.9%.
The number of pupils in upper secondary education was 70,850 of them in the public sector 67,138 or 94.8%, while in the private sector there were 3,712 pupils or 5.3%.
While the total number of pupils in special education was 291 pupils.
The total number of students in university education was 82,389 of them in public universities 50,188 students, or expressed in percentage 60.9%, while in private colleges it was 32,201 students, or 39.1%.
