Education Statistics, 2015/2016
Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST), has prepared "Education Statistics 2015/2016".
This publication provides statistical information for preschool, primary and lower secondary education, upper secondary education, special education, as well as statistical information for higher education for the public and private sector.
According to the results arising from the publication "Education Statistics 2015/2016", shows that the number of children in kindergartens and preschools was 27.508, of them in the public sector were 26.154 children or 95.1%, while in the private sector 1.354 children or 4.9%.
The number of pupils in primary and lower secondary education was 263.779, of them in the public sector were 261.136 or 99%, while in the private sector were 2.643 or 1%.
Number of pupils in upper secondary education was 87.847, of them in the public sector were 85.377 pupils or 97.2%, and while in the private sector were 2.470 pupils or 2.8%.
Regarding the total number of pupils in special education in 2015/2016 was 357 pupils.
The total number of students in university education in the academic year 2015/2016 was 120.429 students, of them in the public universities were 73.111 students or expressed in percentage were 60.7%, while in private colleges were 47.318 students or 39.3%.
