Divorce Statistics in Kosovo 2015
Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published "Divorce Statistics in Kosovo" for 2015.
The data in this publication are presented on the basis of administrative data collection for 2014 from the Basic Courts of Kosovo, which collected a total of 1268 statistical sheets for divorces (SHK-1). These data show that in Kosovo in 2015 were divorced 1 268 marital couples. Of them, belonging to males were: Albanian 95.6%, Serbian 0.2%; Turkish 0.5%; Bosnian 1.6%; Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian 0.9%; and others were 1.2%. whereas, females divorced by ethnicity were: Albanian 87.3%; Serbian 0.4%; Turkish 0.3%; Bosnian 1.3%; Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian 0.7%; and others 9.9%.
According to duration of marriage, dominant is the second year with 13.6%; first year by 13.2%; and less than a year with 9.9%, etc.
Divorces by age group, dominated were women aged 25-29 with 292 divorces or 23.0%; and men aged 25-29 years with 277 or 21.8%.
Divorces, according to the education, dominant were females and males with secondary education. The number of females in this category was 473 or 37.3%; and 558 males or 44.0%.
The highest number of divorced spouses were without children with 61.8%, followed by 14.2% with two children, and one child by 11.7%.
