The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released preliminary data on a monthly basis for Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces for the month of December 2022.

These data are published based on administrative data.

According to the legal provisions on managing of basic registers books for Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces, cases are mandatory to be registered in the above-mentioned registers, in the place where the event took place, regardless of the fact that the persons related to the event have permanent residence in that place or anywhere else.

In the month of December, a total of 2 141 births were registered (inside and outside Kosovo). Of these registered births, 1 094 births are male and 1 047 births are female.

Whereas a total of 858 deaths were registered (inside and outside Kosovo). Of the recorded deaths, 455 cases are male and 403 cases are female.

In the month of December 2022, a total of 1 846 marriages were registered (inside and outside Kosovo), while 155 divorces were registered.

KAS will continue to collect data through special statistical questionnaires: for Births DEM-1, Deaths DEM-2, Marriages DEM-3, and Divorces SHK-1, during this calendar year, as before. Data collection continues on a monthly basis and will serve to create the database and to compare it with administrative data.
