The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released preliminary data on a monthly basis for Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces for the month of August 2022.

These data are published based on administrative data.

According to the legal provisions on managing of basic registers books for Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces, cases are mandatory to be registered in the above-mentioned registers, in the place where the event took place, regardless of the fact that the persons related to the event have permanent residence in that place or anywhere else.

In the month of August, a total of 2 283 births were registered (inside and outside Kosovo). Of these registered births, 1 194 births are male and 1 089 births are female.

Whereas a total of 799 deaths were registered (inside and outside Kosovo). Of the recorded deaths, 427 cases are male and 372 cases are female.

In the month of August 2022, a total of 2 374 marriages were registered (inside and outside Kosovo), while 162 divorces were registered.

KAS will continue to collect data through special statistical questionnaires: for Births DEM-1, Deaths DEM-2, Marriages DEM-3, and Divorces SHK-1, during this calendar year, as before. Data collection continues on a monthly basis and will serve to create the database and to compare it with administrative data.
