The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has released preliminary data [1] on a monthly basis for Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces in the month of April 2022. These data are published based on administrative data.

According to the legal provisions on managing of basic registers books for Births, Deaths, Marriages and Divorces, cases are mandatory to be registered in the above-mentioned registers, in the place where the event took place, regardless of the fact that the persons related to the event have permanent residence in that place or anywhere else.

In the month of April, a total of 2 043 births were registered (inside and outside Kosovo). Of these registered births, 1 022 of births are male and 1 021 of births are female.

Whereas a total of 834 deaths were registered (inside and outside Kosovo). Of the recorded deaths, 456 cases are male and 378 cases are female.

In the month of April 2022, a total of 1 266 marriages were registered (inside and outside Kosovo).

In the month April 2022 were registered 136 cases of divorces.

KAS will continue to collect data through special statistical questionnaires: for Births DEM-1, Deaths DEM-2, Marriages DEM-3, and Divorces SHK-1, during this calendar year, as before. Data collection continues on a monthly basis and will serve to create the database and to compare it with administrative data.
