Annual Energy Balance in Republic of Kosovo, 2018
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Energy Balance in Kosovo in 2018.
This publication reflects the physical energy flows of all types and sources that have been used in Kosovo in 2018.
According to the data presented we have observed that the total (gross) amount of available energy for consumption in 2018 is 2524.32 ktoe.
The available quantity of coal has decreased compared to 2017 by 5.50%, while the available oil product volume has increased compared to 2017 by 1.52%.
Lignite is the dominant product with the participation by 99.95% in total coal as the primary source available, followed by anthracite with 0.01%. Kosovo possesses only lignite reserves, but not other types of coal. The needs for other types of coal are met by import.
Import of oil products in 2018 is 737.88 ktoe, which compared to 2017 has had an increase by about 1.26%.
Oil accounts for 68% of the total amount of oil products available, followed by oil coke by 10%, gasoline %, and LPG 5%, and so on.
