      1. Education statistics contain data on preschool, pre-primary, primary and lower and upper secondary education, and university education in the public and private sector.
      1. The categories of education levels are based on the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED 97).

      1. Education data is categorized according to ISCED 97 levels. Pre-school and pre-primary education represents 0 level according to the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED 97), and is organized in preschool and pre-primary education (age 1-6). Primary education and lower secondary education - level 1 + 2 according to ISCED 97 - is dedicated to children and youth who are at an early age and in spiritual and physical terms are able to be educated, Level 2 primary education according to ISCED 97 levels lasts five years and is compulsory for all pupils according to the rule from six years up to eleven years of life. The lower secondary education lasts four years and is compulsory for all pupils by the rule of twelve to the age of fifteen. Upper secondary education (level 3) is an activity that, after primary and lower secondary education, enables the acquisition of knowledge for further work or education. Type of upper secondary school is divided into gymnasiums, vocational and art schools. University education - level 5 and 6 according to ISCED 97.

      1. KAS is committed to quality assurance in the production of official statistics. Based on the "Law On Official Statistics, Law 04 / L-036", KAS uses statistical methods and processes in accordance with internationally accepted scientific principles and standards and conducts ongoing analyzes in order to improve the quality and delivery of updated statistics. In carrying out its duties, KAS follows the overall quality management principles, in line with the European Statistics Code of Practice. KAS has developed a Quality Statement which is available on the ASK website: http://ask.rks-gov.net/media/1890/statement-of-quality.pdf . The document lists eleven principles, much in line with the CoP principles like professional independence and statistical confidentiality, on which the work of KAS is based.

      1. During July 2017 In Kosovo Agency of Statistics was conducted the process of assessment of the Kosovo Statistical System through the “Peer Review” approach.
      1. According to the User Satisfactory Survey conducted in 2014, the main request was to have more access in micro data and the aggregated data in Excel files.
      1. 12.2. User satisfaction: One of the key elements to ensure the quality of statistical data is the measurement of the satisfaction of users. The survey aims to gather comprehensive information on the needs and requirements of users of official statistical data. Through this survey the users of statistical data have expressed their thoughts and opinions regarding statistical views, they have provided advice and suggestions regarding their needs for statistics and how to improve these statistical data in the future. This survey was conducted during the conference held with the users of statistical data, in which 11 users responded.       1. The internal consistency of the data has been checked before it is finalized. The links between the variables and the coherence in their series are also checked. The data are coherent in the internal aspect.
      1. The publication of education statistics 2015/2016 will be a joint publication between KAS and MEST. Data collection for pre-university education is done through the Education Management Information System (EMIS) at MEST, while KAS collects data on Serbian schools (some schools report) as well as collecting data on public university education and private colleges. For the analysis and processing of pre-university education data, are engaged 2 persons from KAS and 3 persons from MEST, while for public and private university education are engaged 2 persons from Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS).

      1. From 2002/2003 to 2012/2013 data on pre-university education (public and private) have been collected through education questionnaires distributed by KAS regional offices, sent to schools. Whereas, from 2013/2014, the source of data for pre-university education is the Ministry of Education Science and Technology (MEST) respectively Education Management Information System (EMIS), while the source of data for university education is the Central Administration of the University of Prishtina, Prizren, Gjilan, Peja, Gjakova and Mitrovica.

      1. In public and private pre-university education - each school (except for Serbian schools) reports data on the system known as Education Management Information System (EMIS). Public university education - The Central Administration of the University of Prishtina, Prizren, Gjilan, Peja, Gjakova and Mitrovica - sends the data based on the request of KAS for the indicators needed by KAS. Data for private Colleges KAS provides through the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA) for the indicators needed by KAS for the publication of the education statistics. Data is collected through the information management system in education electronically and through questionnaires for Serbian schools that do not report to the system.

Data on pre-university education (with the exception of Serbian schools controlled by KAS) are checked by the persons responsible for statistics within MEST for eventual errors, including processing and analyzing of data, while data for universities in the public and private sector are checked by the responsible persons for education statistics in KAS respectfully DSS, they check for eventual errors and verification, as well as their processing and analysis, as well as their comparability with the previous years.
