Results of the Structural Business Statistics, 2015

Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published results of the Structural Business Survey for reference year 2015. This publication provides the data aiming to present some of the economic indicators according to the structure of economic activity.

According to the results derived in this publication, according to economic sectors, the largest number of enterprises belongs to: trade with 16 920 enterprises or in percentage (50.6%); processing industry enterprises with 4 528 (13.5%); accommodation and food service activities with 3 713 enterprises (11.1%); business services and other services with 3 201 enterprises (9.6%); construction with 2 629 enterprises (7.9%); transport and storage with 1 219 enterprises (3.6%); information and communication with 881 enterprises (2.6%); extractive industry with 165 enterprises (0.5%); water supply, sewerage, waste management and land revitalization activities with 150 enterprises (0.4%); and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning with 59 enterprises (0.2%).

While, in terms of number of employees and self-employed (including the owners of individual businesses), for economic sectors that were part of the research, amounts to 155 135, of which: trade sector accounts for about 55 768 employees or in percentage (35.9%); processing industry employs 23 651 (15.2%); business services with 17 100 employees  (11%); construction with 15 354 employees (9.9%); accommodation and food service activities with 12 965 employees (8.4%); supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning with 8 045 employees (5.2%); information and communication with 8 019 employees (5.2%); as well as other sectors have less than 5% of the employees.

Another characteristic is the turnover realized by enterprises, dominated by trade with a share of 56.0%; processing industry 12.1%; construction 10.1%; and other sectors of economic activities resulting in a smaller percentage of turnover.

Meanwhile, the index of average monthly salary, which is around 354 euros, in the activities included in the survey, which is a rough indicator of our reality.
