Producer Price Index (PPI), Q2 2016

Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published "Producer Price Index" (PPI) for the second quarter (Q2) 2016.

 

The overall producer price index in Kosovo has decreased by (-4.6%) compared to Q1 2016. The largest decreases by economic activity were seen in: electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-17.2 %); manufacture of motor vehicles (transport), trailers and semi-trailers (-5.8%); production of beverages

(-1.3%); production of food products (-0.4%); manufacture of leather and products thereof (-0.3%); and manufacture of wood and its products and cork, except furniture, manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials (-0.3%).

 

The decrease was counteracted by increases in prices of: metal ore extraction (13.3%); manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (1.9%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (1.4%); collection, treatment and water supply (1.2%); manufacture of machinery and equipment b.C. (0.4%); manufacture of rubber and plastics (0.3%); manufacture of metals (0.2%) and manufacture of chemical products (0.2%).

 

Meanwhile, compared Q2 2016 to Q2 2015, producer prices were down by an average (-5.4%). The largest decreases by economic activities were: electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-16.5%); manufacture of motor vehicles (transport) trailers and semi-trailers (-12.9%); manufacture of electrical equipment (-0.7%); manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (-6.4%); metal ore extraction (-4.3%); manufacture of metals (-3.3%); manufacture of wood and its products and cork, except furniture, manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials (-1.5%); manufacture of furniture (-1.2%); manufacture of machinery and equipment b.C. (-1.0%); other ores and quarrying (-0.7%); and manufacture of chemical products (-0.4%).

 

The decrease was counteracted by increases in prices of: manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (2.6%); manufacture of leather and leather products (2.1%); collection, treatment and water supply (1.2%); manufacture of rubber and plastic products (0.9%); production of beverages (0.6%); and production of food products (0.4%).
