KAS signed Cooperation Agreement with the Kosovo Police for facilitating the collection of data and statistics for tourism

Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Kosovo Police (KP). The Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Chief Executive Officer of KAS, Mr. Isa Krasniqi and the Director General of the KP, Mr. Shpend Maxhuni. The purpose of this Cooperation Agreement (CA) is to regulate and determine the procedures for exchange of statistical data on tourism for KAS as an institution responsible for official statistics in the Republic of Kosovo.

The agreement relates to the collection and exchange of data in the field of tourism in accordance with the international standards and methodology.

Under this Cooperation Agreement, the KP is obliged to provide KAS with statistical data on tourist turnover at border points (crossings) of the Republic of Kosovo on monthly and annual basis. Meanwhile, KAS is obliged to use these data exclusively for statistical purposes, namely to draft tourism policies on the development of tourism, by citing the source of data.

Also, these data will undergo processing, analysing and release on the KAS website, which will be made public to all governmental and non-governmental institutions (by maintaining confidential information in accordance with laws and regulations in force).

KAS agrees that there will be cooperation in the delivery - the exchange of knowledge between these institutions about definitions and methodology for these statistics. Also, KAS will inform the KP regarding the plan of the publication of the data, and, for their needs, KAS will provide information and statistics on request.

KAS and KP value the significant of the creation and strengthening of institutional cooperation in order to exchange statistical information and mutual interest which is required in the field of tourism.
