Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), November 2016

Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published "the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices" (HICP) for November 2016.

The harmonized index of consumer prices since January 2016 is published with base year 2015 = 100.

Overall harmonized index of consumer prices in the country is higher by 0.1% in November 2016 compared with October 2016. The increase of harmonized index of consumer prices is observed in COICOP subgroups, as: sugar and sweets (2.4%); tobacco (1.3%); coffee, tea and cocoa (1.4%); with a common impact of these subgroups of 0.2% in the HICP.

Increase was counteracted mainly by decreases of subgroup of fruits (-5.8%) with an impact of (-0.1%) in the HICP.

The inflation rate measured in the month of November 2016 with November 2015 was 0.9%.

Overall harmonized index of consumer prices is higher for 0.9% in November 2016 compared to November 2015. In this period there are some changes in prices of items and services to COICOP groups and subgroups. Increase of the harmonized index of consumer prices is observed in subgroups: meat (1.3%); milk, cheese and eggs (2.1%); sugar and sweets (9.3%); coffee, tea and cocoa (1.4%); tobacco (6.4%); clothing (3.1%); electricity, gas and other fuels (1.2%); use of personal transport means (1.2%); transport services (7.5%) - (rising price of plane tickets) with a common impact of these subgroups of 1.2% in the HICP.

The increase was counteracted mainly by decreases in this period of COICOP subgroups: fruits (-3.7%); vegetables (-5.0%) with a common impact of these subgroups of (-0.3%) in the HICP.
