The overall harmonized index of consumer prices in the country dropped to an average of (-0.3%) in April 2017 compared to March 2017. The application of new retail electricity tariffs for household customers from April 1, 2017 approved by the Energy Regulatory Office of the Republic of Kosovo, is the cause of the fall in the price of electricity in April 2017 compared with March 2017, on an average of -11.3%, with a common impact of these subgroups (-0.4%) in the HICP.

The decline was largely counteracted by rose of the consumer prices in the fruit subgroup for (8.4%) with an impact of 0.1% in the HICP.

The inflation rate measured in April 2017 with April 2016 was 2.2%.

The overall harmonized index of consumer prices is higher by 2.2% in April 2017 compared with April 2016.
