Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by economic activity and expenditure approach (at current and constant prices), Q4 2017
The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) has published the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the fourth quarter of 2017 (Q4 2017), according to economic activities and the expenditure approach at current and constant prices.
GDP in Q4 of 2017 marks a real increase of 3.2%, compared with Q4 of 2016.
Real GDP growth by economic activity is as follows: Financial and insurance activities (30.4%); Manufacturing industry (7.4%); Transport and storage (6.8%); Wholesale and retail trade (5.7%); Real estate business (4.2%); Mining industry (4.0%); Hotels and restaurants (3.9%); Agriculture, hunting and forestry (3.4%); and Construction (2.6%).
While there was a real decline in data on Electricity, water supply and waste treatment (22.0%).
According to the expenditure approach, GDP has increased, compared to the same period of the previous year, in: Export of goods and services (35%); Import of goods and services (6.67%); the Gross capital formation (4.0%); Government final consumption expenditures (3.5%); Final consumption expenditure and non-profit institutions serving households, NPISHs (0.1%).
With the assessment for the fourth quarter, in accordance to the methodology, KAS provides a preliminary estimate for 2017, which, based on the quarterly amount, has increased by 3.74% compared to 2016.
