      1. The main objectives of the statistics of the hotel is to provide the basic data that are related to the capacity and hotel in Kosovo, capacity of utilization surveyed in Kosovo (%), number of visitors, local and foreign visitor’s numbers by region, number of foreign visitors by country of origin and the number of local and foreign visitors by the night of stay.

      1. The main variables in the publication of Hostels are: 1. Hotel capacity represents the number of hotels surveyed, the number of their rooms and the number of beds in general. 2. The number of local visitors by region is the number of persons with permanent residence in Kosovo, but who stay at least one night in a different place in Kosovo. 3. The number of foreign visitors by country of origin is considered the number of people with permanent residence abroad, but who stay temporarily in Kosovo for at least a night. 4. Number of local and foreign visitor’s nights of stay - a visitor (whether local or foreign) who spends a night in a hotel is known as night of stay in our research.

      1. Hotel sample framework consists of a list of active enterprises which in the Statistical Business Register (SBR) are registered in the activity of Hotel according to Nace Rev. 2 code. Selection of Hotels for the survey is done by size of the Hotel (CUT OFF) ie. Hotels which have higher capacity and higher number of visitors.

      1. KAS is committed to quality assurance in the production of official statistics. Based on the "Law On Official Statistics, Law 04 / L-036", KAS uses statistical methods and processes in accordance with internationally accepted scientific principles and standards and conducts ongoing analyzes in order to improve the quality and delivery of updated statistics. In carrying out its duties, KAS follows the overall quality management principles, in line with the European Statistics Code of Practice. KAS has developed a Quality Statement which is available on the KAS website: http://ask.rks-gov.net/media/1890/statement-of-quality.pdf . The document lists eleven principles, much in line with the CoP principles like professional independence and statistical confidentiality, on which the work of KAS is based.

      1. During July 2017, in Kosovo Agency of Statistics was conducted the process of assessment of the Kosovo Statistical System through the “Peer Review” approach.
      1. The purpose of the publication is to be mindful of the development trend of this economic activity in Kosovo. This publication will serve as a useful reference for all users of KAS statistical data, and as useful and relevant economic information for Kosovo. The main users of the data are: Ministry of Industry and Trade - Department of Tourism, for external needs, for research purposes (by students, etc.), as well as for internal needs of the Kosovo Agency of Statistics.
      1. One of the key elements to ensure the quality of statistical data is the measurement of the satisfaction of users. The survey aims to gather comprehensive information on the needs and requirements of users of official statistical data. Through this survey the users of statistical data have expressed their thoughts and opinions regarding statistical views, they have provided advice and suggestions regarding their needs for statistics and how to improve these statistical data in the future. This survey was conducted during the conference held with the users of statistical data, in which 11 users responded.       1. Preparation of the material and its distribution to the field workers from the head office is done by 1 person (Official for hotel statistics) for a period of 1 week, full time. In collecting data on the field work 7 employees in 7 regions, full time. Filling the questionnaire in a hotel unit lasts 15 minutes, while the number of hotels surveyed regularly is 105 hotels. Acceptance of material from the field is made after one month of the survey in the field. With logical data control and their involvement in the program deals only 1 person in this case the Official for Hotel statistics and the procedure lasts 2 weeks, full-time. In preparing the publication (control, processing, analysis and data processing) work 3 persons from main office in a period of 10 days, full-time. The measurement of time is difficult to calculate accurately, because it can cause delays in the collection of data in the field which in turn affects other delay in further proceedings. The time measurements mentioned above are approximate.

      1. Statistical information on the activity of the hotel are taken from statistical research organized throughout the country through regional statistical offices, through the survey. Number of hotels surveyed regularly on a sample basis is total 105, while the size of the population includes about 200 hotel units, which are mainly not big hotels but in statistical register of businesses are registered in the activity of Hotels by code Nace Rev. .2. The categorization of hotels for the survey is made on the basis of their size, higher capacity hotel and the large number of visitors. The survey excluded motels and overnight places.
      1. Hotel data are collected in quarterly period through the survey in the field. Data collection takes approximately 1 month.
      1. Data collection is done through electronic mail. To collect data is used Assisted Personal Interview on paper.
      1. Logical control is a regular procedure after the arrival of data from the field before their involvement in the program. This is done by the officer for hotel statistics from the central office. If possible errors have been encountered during completion of the questionnaire, they are corrected.
      1. In cases where there is a lack of data for a given variable in the questionnaire or any hotel within the region designated for some reason did not report at all on a quarterly basis, it becomes imputation of data (evaluation of data of the same quarter of the prior year).
