      1. Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS) started to publish the Producer Price Index (PPI) in May 2009. Prices and value of industrial products are collected by manufacturing enterprises with most influence in Kosovo. Value of product and annual average price is referred for 2007, while the first quarter of 2009 the index is being monitored and calculated continuously in quarterly and annual periods. To calculate the Producer Price Index we have 24 divisions (economic activities) with about 160 manufacturing enterprise with about 500 items.

PPI - Producer Price Index is in accordance with the Standard Classification of Activities according to NACE Rev. 2, based on "Regulation No.11/2013 Article 7 for the implementation of the standard classification of activities." PPI is ongoing and continuously seeks to include economic activities which currently are not active, but gradually the production is expected from these activities.

      1. Producer Price Index (PPI) is a relative indicator that measures the degree to which prices of goods (products) produced and services vary in certain periods of time.
      1. Prices of imported items for the calculation of import price index are taken by the importing enterprises. For calculating the CPI, the data (information) are obtained by manufacturing businesses.

In carrying out its duties, KAS follows the overall quality management principles, in line with the European Statistics Code of Practice.       1. During July 2017, in Kosovo Agency of Statistics was conducted the process of assessment of the Kosovo Statistical System through the “Peer Review” approach.
      1. Mainly as a statistical parameter has a special significance as a deflator of Gross Domestic Product by product approach. Mainly used by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Central Bank, the IMF and the different researchers.
      1. One of the key elements to ensure the quality of statistical data is the measurement of the satisfaction of users. The survey aims to gather comprehensive information on the needs and requirements of users of official statistical data. Through this survey the users of statistical data have expressed their thoughts and opinions regarding statistical views, they have provided advice and suggestions regarding their needs for statistics and how to improve these statistical data in the future. This survey was conducted during the conference held with the users of statistical data, in which 11 users responded. The questionnaire contained eight questions and included various topics: the use of statistical data, evaluation of KAS in general, the assessment of the site in KAS, evaluating the quality of statistical data, etc. More detailed information on this survey can be found on the web: .

      1. To calculate the producer price index (PPI) in KAS is engaged a person, and in the collection of the questionnaires to regional directories are committed seven people. Time for preparation of questionnaires takes 10 days and then distributed to regional directorates for monitoring. Control, verification, involvement and results processing takes 30 days.

PPI from the first quarter 2014 uses specific weights updated by using data from Structural Business Survey (SBS) 2012.
